The state campground operates seasonally, generally April 1 through October 31. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with modern restrooms and showers available.

The historic community reflects the township's railroad, tavern and industrial-era development and is home to the long-running Pattenburg House.
Inside Union Township. Seasonal family campsites are available by state reservation. The campground has modern restrooms and showers; pets and alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the campground.
Conventional hotels are available just outside Union Township around Clinton Township and Route 31. These should not be mistaken for in-town lodging.

The highway makes Union Township easy to reach, but exits and Route 173 traffic can be busy around commuter and travel periods.
Visitor destinations may display Hampton, Asbury or Clinton in their addresses even when they are physically in Union Township.
